FAQ

  • What do I need to bring with me to my trial class? – We recommend that you come in loose-fitting clothing that allows you to move freely. Athletic wear is preferable, and you may practice in socks or bare feet. Please also bring a water bottle to stay hydrated during your class!
  • What will happen in my trial class? – Upon arriving the gym, you will find a place to change and store your belongings. We will give you a waiver form to fill out. The coach will guide you through a warm up including cardio, strength and conditioning, and stretching. After that, there will be a focus on skills building through individual exercises with a focus on martial arts technique. There will be a chance to work with another member of the class, including controlled sparring.
  • I am a total beginner. Is that okay? – Yes, we love introducing people to martial arts! We customize our classes to cater to each student’s level and goals. Our classes are semi-private, which allows us to give attention to each student.
  • Can I try more than one discipline? – Yes! Everyone gravitates to different martial arts disciplines, so it is a good idea to try out karate, jiu jitsu, and kickboxing. After your free trial, talk to us about other disciplines that interest you.
  • How much does a membership cost? Because the cost varies for kids and adults as well as by discipline, we find it easier to communicate our pricing on the phone or in person to outline different options. Please get in touch with us for more information!
  • I did my trial, and I want to sign up. How does registration work? – We would love to assist you with the sign up through Pushpress. Please give us a call for assistance or ask us in person!
  • Do I need a kimono or gi to train at Zone? – We do not expect you to own a kimono on Day 1. However, we require students to wear a kimono with a belt for karate and jiu jitsu classes within their first month. We sell kimonos and belts, to make it easy for you to level up.
